Kunchan Nambiar, who was born in Kalakkam, Killikurussimangalam, Palakkad district, created Thullal during his time as a dependent of the King of Ambalapuzha. The three variants of Thullal, which are simple, elegant and important, are performed in the morning, afternoon and evening. The most popular is Ottan Thullal.
