Samatva Samajam

Vaikuntha Swamikal was a social reformer who fought against the rights of the avarnas and the shortcomings of the monarchy. He founded the 'Samatva Samaj', which is considered to be the first social organization in Kerala, in 1836 at Suchindra. He gave strength to the idea that all humans are equal. Vaikuntha Swamikal had the idea that God is reflected in everyone. On this basis, Vaikuntha Swamikal performed the installation of a mirror in 1851. He instructed the working class that 'do not work if you are not paid'. He also advised them to wear a turban, which was the right of only the upper castes.
